Perry Jones Jr.

LEAD PASTOR

Pastor Perry Jones Jr. was born in Clinton, Louisiana. He is married to Loretta Adams Jones and is the proud father of four daughters: Regina, Dana, Kaylynn, and Trinity.

Rev. Jones was a deacon for eight years at the Asphodel Baptist Church of Jackson Louisiana. In 2005, after these eight years Rev. Jones felt the call of God on his life and humbly submitted to the ministry of preaching under the leadership of Pastor Roy Miller at Asphodel. Realizing that a call to preach is a call to preparation, Rev. Jones was enrolled in the St. John Bible Institute of Baker Louisiana where he finished with a three year certificate. After two years of ministry at Asphodel, Rev. Jones then moved his membership to the Second Baptist Church of Wilson Louisiana, under the leadership of Pastor John Sanders. It was in the year 2010 that Rev. Jones finished up the Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree from Louisiana Baptist University. In 2017 Pastor Jones completed the Master of Discipleship at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Currently he is completing the Doctor of Ministry from Clamp Divinity School of Anderson South Carolina.

Since Pastor Jones has been Pastor, the church has grown spiritually, financially and numerically. Pastor Jones is a visionary who wants to see lives changed and the well-being of every individual improve. He believes that if you surrender to Christ he will take care of you. Pastor Jones is humbled and continues to be amazed at the great works that God is doing at Mt. Pleasant.

Pastor Jones is a leader in the community as he is concerned about the welfare of the children and the community as a whole. He can often be seen at the community center, the schools and at social functions. His Holy Ghost filled sermons has changed lives and he always has an on time, in season word for the saints and the sinners.

Saleria Sterling McManus

MINISTER OF MUSIC

Saleria Sterling McManus, a native of Baton Rouge, LA the youngest of three girls and the daughter of Corine Sterling and the late Howard Sterling. Sister McManus is the mother of 3 beautiful girls and the proud grandmother of 4 grandsons.


Sister McManus is a product of East Baton Rouge Parish Public Schools. She holds a Master of Education + 30 in Elementary Education from Southern University A&M College and has over 20 years of experience as a Louisiana Educator.


Sister McManus accepted the Lord at an early age and enjoyed worshiping through music as a choir member and musician. Sister McManus strives to be an example of a virtuous woman – a woman who is yielded to God in every area of her life. Sister Saleria worships and serves as the musician at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Perry Jones, Jr. The Lord has given her a passion for teaching Sunday School and spreading his word through song. Sister Saleria believes with her heart that “she was created to make God’s praise Glorious”!


Sister Saleria continues to aim toward and produce excellence in all of her choir ministry opportunities. She has a heart for people and is a committed prayer warrior.


Her life scripture is Psalm 18:2, “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust, my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.”

Taneisha D Banks

FINANCIAL SECRETARY

Sister Taneisha currently serves as financial secretary and bookkeeper at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She has been a youth usher, volunteered during vacation bible school, back-to-school giveaway, and other various youth programs.

Sister Taneisha is a graduate from Louisiana State University, majoring in sport administration and minoring in business administration. Sister Taneisha also has been an active student working in the LSU Student Government office, on the committee of the student parking appeals board, and various sport events for LSU Athletics Event Management.
